From Pond to Export: Our Quality Process
Quality assurance at Bengal Sea Food Syndicate starts at the pond bank — not the processing floor. Every harvest is graded by count size, visually inspected, and transferred immediately to insulated harvest bins with ice, minimising the window between harvest and cold storage.
Our HACCP-compliant processing facility handles cleaning, grading, and format conversion — whether that's IQF freezing, HLSO packing, peeling, or deveining. Each step is logged with timestamps and operator IDs, creating a complete batch trail from pond to package.
Final product is blast-frozen at -35°C before transfer to -18°C cold storage, maintaining the cold chain until dispatch. Every export shipment is accompanied by a Certificate of Origin, health certificate, and farm-level traceability document.
Before any batch is approved for packing, samples are pulled for antibiotic residue and microbial testing at an accredited third-party lab. We test for banned substances including nitrofurans and chloramphenicol, along with routine checks for Salmonella and E. coli, and hold every batch until results clear.
Our packing lines are also metal-detector and X-ray inspected as a final physical safety check, and each carton is barcoded to its harvest batch — so if a buyer ever raises a query, we can trace that exact box back to the specific pond and harvest date it came from within minutes.
The result: shrimp that arrives at the buyer's warehouse in the same condition it left ours.
