What FSSAI Certification Means for You
FSSAI — the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India — sets the regulatory framework for food safety in India's seafood industry. For buyers, an FSSAI-certified supplier is more than a paperwork checkbox; it's a guarantee of process integrity.
To maintain our FSSAI licence, our processing facility undergoes regular audits covering hygiene infrastructure, temperature controls, water quality, pest control, and staff training. Any deficiency results in mandatory corrective action before the next inspection.
For export buyers, our FSSAI certification works alongside EU and other destination-country approvals to provide a layered quality assurance framework. It means that every batch leaving our facility has passed multiple regulatory checkpoints — not just one.
Beyond the facility-level licence, FSSAI standards also govern how we label and document each product — net weight declarations, storage instructions, and batch coding all have to meet defined specifications. This matters more than it sounds: mislabelled or under-documented shipments are one of the most common reasons seafood consignments get held up at customs.
We also treat FSSAI compliance as a floor, not a ceiling. Our internal quality thresholds on things like moisture content and glazing percentage are often stricter than the minimum regulatory requirement, because we'd rather catch a marginal batch internally than have a buyer catch it after it's already landed.
We make all our certification documents available to buyers on request, including audit reports and approval numbers, so you can verify our compliance status independently.
